Lead Guide

Position Overview:High Output Tours is seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join our team as Lead Guides for the 2025 season. As a Lead Guide, you will be at the forefront of delivering unforgettable adventure experiences to our guests, showcasing the beauty of Sitka and the surrounding areas while ensuring safety, professionalism, and fun on every tour.

About the Job

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience:

  • Greet and welcome visitors to the Wild Arts Gallery, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.

  • Share information about featured artists, local glasswork, and gallery offerings.

  • Assist guests with questions and provide excellent customer service.

 

Tour Support:

  • Assist with preparation and setup for art and culinary tours.

  • Provide behind-the-scenes support to ensure tours run smoothly and on schedule.

 

Sales & Transactions:

  • Facilitate art and gift sales, including operating the point-of-sale system.

  • Accurately process payments and handle transactions with professionalism.

  • Package and prepare artwork for guests to take home safely.

 

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with guides and tour leaders to coordinate guest flow between tours and the gallery.

  • Assist with inventory tracking, restocking, and maintaining a clean and inviting space.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service, retail, or hospitality experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

  • Interest in art, glassmaking, or culinary experiences is a plus.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be 16 years or older.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with point-of-sale systems or retail sales.

  • Knowledge of Sitka’s art community and local culture.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
